The Astros and Yankees met in game 4 of the 2017 American League Championship Series on October 17, 2017. The Astros held 2 games to 1 lead going into this game in New York. At the top of the first inning, this baseball was used when Sonny Grey threw balls three and four to Walk Jose Altuve for his seventh career postseason walk. Carlos Correa also saw this ball for four pitches, ending when he fouled the ball off, and it was replaced. Correa would ground out to end the inning in this at bat. The game remained scoreless until the Astros took a 4-0 lead with a three-run double from Yuli Gurriel in the sixth inning, and a Brian McCann batted the ball in the seventh that was ruled an error and allowed Marwin Gonzalez to score. Aaron Judge started the Yankees comeback with a home run in the seventh. Again Judge provided offense in the eighth inning with a double that drove in Jacob Ellsbury to tie the game 4-4. Gary Sanchez hit a double that scored Aaron Judge and Didi Gregorius to give the Yankees a 6-4 lead that held as New York evened the series. Houston would fight back over the next three games to win this series in seven games, and then go on to defeat the Dodgers in seven games to win the 2017 World Series.
