Ozzie Albies and the Braves played the Phillies at Citizens Bank Park on April 27, 2018. The Braves got to Phillies ace Aaron Nola early. Ender Inciarte walked to start the game. This baseball entered the game for the next at-bat when Ozzie Albies came to the plate. Albies hit a 2-1 pitch to left field for a double and moved Inciarte to third. Freddie Freeman came up next and hit a single to right field to score Inciarte, and move Albies to third. Nick Markakis and Kurt Suzuki both popped out for the first two outs of the inning. When Ronald Acuna was batting next, Freddie Freeman stole second base. With the throw to second, Ozzie Albies on third base broke for home and stole the second run of the game without a play at home plate. Acuna finished his at-bat by hitting a double to center field to score Freeman. The top of the inning ended with the Braves ahead 3-0. Philadelphia responded with three runs of its own to tie the game in the bottom of the inning. Aaron Nola and the rest of the Phillies pitching staff held Atlanta scoreless for the rest of the game and won 7-3. The loss dropped the Braves to 14-11, trailing both the Phillies and the Mets in the division.
